For more than 18 years, we’ve provided high-quality residential and community-based services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Johnson County.

We’re looking for an experienced, compassionate, and motivated Residential Program Supervisor to join our leadership team. Position Summary

The Residential Program Supervisor provides leadership and operational oversight for multiple residential homes serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This position supervises Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), promotes quality services, ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, and supports person-centered care across all assigned locations.

Working closely with the Residential Program Manager and other agency leaders, the Residential Program Supervisor helps ensure every individual receives exceptional support while living safely, independently, and with dignity.

What You’ll Do

Leadership & Staff Development

Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop Direct Support Professionals.
Conduct employee observations, coaching sessions, and performance evaluations.
Support employee engagement, retention, and professional growth.
Contribute to a welcoming and effective training experience for new employees.
Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable team culture.

Residential Operations

Provide oversight for multiple residential homes throughout Johnson County.
Conduct routine home visits to ensure quality care, cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Monitor staffing levels and assist with scheduling challenges and call-off coverage.
Ensure homes remain well-maintained and coordinate maintenance and repair needs.
Monitor agency vehicles for safety, cleanliness, and preventative maintenance.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

Ensure compliance with Kansas licensing regulations, Medicaid requirements, HCBS Final Rule standards, and agency policies.
Monitor documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.

Ensure implementation of:

Person-Centered Support Plans (PCSPs)
Individual Support Plans (ISPs)
Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)
Medication administration procedures
Health and safety protocols
Complete documentation audits and implement corrective action plans when necessary.

Individual Support

Promote independence, dignity, choice, and community inclusion.
Build positive relationships with individuals served, families, guardians, and advocates.
Collaborate with nursing staff, behavioral health professionals, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams.
Ensure individuals receive services consistent with their goals and support plans.

Incident & Emergency Response

Respond to emergencies, behavioral crises, staffing emergencies, and other urgent situations.
Investigate incidents and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
Implement corrective actions and follow-up plans when appropriate.
Participate in an on-call rotation to support residential operations after business hours.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and employee performance.
Monitor operational trends and recommend process improvements.
Support organizational initiatives and quality improvement projects.
Assist leadership with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

High school diploma or GED
Minimum two years of supervisory or leadership experience
Experience in residential services, healthcare, behavioral health, human services, or a related field
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Reliable transportation
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems
Ability to participate in an on-call rotation

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Knowledge of HCBS services and regulations
Experience with person-centered planning, behavior supports, medication administration, and regulatory compliance

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

Lift up to 50 pounds
Assist individuals with transfers when necessary
Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and travel between residential locations throughout the day
Operate agency vehicles, including passenger vans
Use computers, tablets, and electronic documentation systems
Respond to emergencies during and outside normal business hours
