Full Job Description

Julia Barriga MD PA, a physician-led independent pediatric practice serving Tampa families since 1999, is seeking a full-time Pediatrician (MD/DO) to join our collaborative team. This is an opportunity to practice relationship-centered pediatric primary care in a setting where pediatricians, medical assistants, and administrative staff share ideas, learn from one another, and work together to improve care. The role includes well-child care, developmental screening, acute and chronic condition management, vaccinations, diagnostic testing, family education, and appropriate response to urgent clinical needs within the office.

The starting salary is $180,000-$200,000 based on experience, plus a bonus opportunity. Benefits include malpractice insurance, PTO, a 401(k), health, dental, vision, and life insurance, and CME reimbursement. Pediatricians who have completed an accredited residency, including physicians beginning their careers after residency, are encouraged to apply. We provide Office Practicum EMR training, coaching from the Chief Medical Director, and billing and coding education from an experienced coder. The anticipated start date is October 1, 2026.

Julia Barriga MD PA is an established, physician-led pediatric practice that has cared for Tampa families for more than 25 years. We provide comprehensive outpatient pediatric care from newborn visits through adolescence, with a strong emphasis on prevention, early detection, family education, and thoughtful follow-up.

We are growing, and we are adding a full-time pediatrician so more children can receive timely, personal care without losing the close teamwork that has shaped the practice. Our pediatricians, medical assistants, and administrative team collaborate, communicate, and learn from one another because better teamwork creates better patient care.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Perform complete physical examinations, comprehensive well-child visits, developmental screenings, and age-appropriate health assessments.
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, infections, and other conditions common in pediatric medicine.
Recommend and administer vaccinations, prescribe medications, and order or review diagnostic testing when appropriate.
Provide preventive guidance, health education, and clear counseling to parents and caregivers.
Respond calmly and appropriately to urgent clinical needs and emergencies that arise within the office.
Coordinate care with other pediatricians, medical assistants, and administrative staff, sharing information promptly and respectfully.
Document each encounter completely, accurately, and on time to support continuity of care and appropriate billing.
Follow the practice's clinical, quality, HIPAA, and OSHA standards while contributing ideas that can improve patient care.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
Successful completion of an accredited pediatric residency.
An active, unrestricted Florida medical license, or the ability to obtain one before the start date.
Sound clinical judgment in evaluating and treating acute and chronic pediatric conditions.
Genuine empathy for children and families, including the ability to communicate clearly with people who have different levels of health literacy.
Adaptability when patient volume, technology, clinical instructions, or practice processes change.
Professional composure under pressure and a willingness to accept feedback without losing focus on the patient.
A collaborative approach and a commitment to timely, useful clinical documentation.
Experience with Office Practicum or another pediatric EHR/EMR is helpful, but Office Practicum training will be provided.

Newly trained pediatricians who have completed residency are welcome to apply. Compensation within the stated range will reflect experience.

SCHEDULE AND START DATE

This is a full-time, on-site position. The schedule includes a mix of standard 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. shifts, 12:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. evening shifts, and Saturday coverage from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The precise rotation will be discussed during the interview. The anticipated start date is October 1, 2026.
