Full Job Description

Director of Franchise Operations & Training

We are seeking an experienced Director of Franchise Operations & Training to lead key operational functions across a growing franchise organization.

This role will oversee franchise operations and performance, new franchisee onboarding, training and curriculum, and the systems and processes that support continued growth.

The ideal candidate is a strong operator who is highly organized, proactive, accountable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities at once. This person should be able to identify problems, determine the root cause, implement solutions, and build processes that prevent the same issues from happening again.

Key ResponsibilitiesFranchise Operations & Performance

Support franchise owners in improving execution and overall business performance.
Help identify operational challenges and develop clear action plans to address them.
Establish and reinforce operating standards, expectations, and best practices.
Review key performance indicators and help franchisees translate data into action.
Identify recurring operational issues and develop scalable system-wide solutions.
Serve as a resource for staffing, scheduling, customer experience, workflow, and day-to-day operational needs.
Work directly with underperforming locations to identify root causes and improve results.

New Franchisee Onboarding

Oversee the onboarding process for new franchise owners from signing through opening.
Maintain accountability around deadlines, milestones, and opening requirements.
Coordinate internal departments, vendors, licensing, technology, training, and other opening-related activities.
Identify potential delays early and take action to keep projects moving.
Continuously improve the onboarding process to make openings faster, more organized, and more predictable.
Ensure new franchisees are properly prepared before opening their businesses.

Training & Curriculum

Oversee training programs for franchise owners, managers, and employees.
Manage and continually improve new franchisee training.
Maintain and update training materials, operating procedures, resources, and curriculum.
Develop ongoing training programs designed to improve operational performance.
Work with internal subject-matter experts to create new training content as needed.
Ensure operating standards can be clearly taught, measured, and replicated across the franchise system.

Systems, Processes & Accountability

Build and improve systems that allow the franchise organization to scale efficiently.
Turn recurring activities into documented SOPs, workflows, checklists, and training materials.
Identify inefficient or broken processes and take ownership of improving them.
Create clear accountability around responsibilities, deadlines, and expected outcomes.
Ensure recurring problems result in process improvements rather than repeated short-term fixes.
Work with leadership to turn strategic initiatives into actionable projects with clear owners, milestones, and deadlines.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience in franchise operations, multi-unit operations, business coaching, training, or a similar operational leadership role.
Strong project-management and organizational skills.
Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Strong communication and coaching skills.
The ability to hold franchise owners and team members accountable while maintaining strong working relationships.
Experience developing or improving systems, processes, and SOPs.
Comfort working with KPIs and operational performance data.
The ability to identify root causes instead of simply reacting to symptoms.
A high level of initiative and personal accountability.
The ability to operate effectively in a fast-growing and changing environment.

Franchise experience is strongly preferred.

A successful person in this role will:

Keep new franchisees moving through onboarding on time.
Improve consistency and execution across existing franchise locations.
Build stronger systems and processes as the organization grows.
Improve the quality and effectiveness of training.
Identify operational issues before they become larger problems.
Drive accountability without requiring constant oversight.
Create repeatable solutions that reduce operational friction across the franchise system.
