Full Job Description

Billing Specialist

Department: Finance

Reports To: Amanda Montoya

Employment Status: Full Time

Work Location: 4545 Dodge St Omaha, NE 68132

Salary Range: $55,000+ (Relevant Education and Experience Considered)

Position Summary

The Billing Specialist coordinates insurance billing, payment posting, claims processing, client account management, and reimbursement activities for Child Saving Institute. This position works closely with program staff, insurance providers, and clients to ensure timely, accurate billing and effective revenue cycle management.

Essential Functions

Coordinate insurance billing by ensuring completed services are submitted to insurance providers.
Review payments and ensure all transactions are accurately posted in the RCMS system.
Review denied claims and reprocessed billing within 72 hours.
Communicate clearly with clients regarding balances, payment agreements, and collections.
Manage client collections accounts over 90 days and monitor payment agreements.
Serve as liaison with credentialing entities and resolve issues within 72 hours.
Maintain accurate billing records and prepare reports for leadership and accounting.
Meet with program staff to resolve reimbursement issues and support Finance billing activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Attend required training, meetings, and supervision sessions.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma required; Associate degree in Medical Billing preferred.
Three years of medical billing or related experience required.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Accurate data entry and keyboarding skills (45 WPM preferred).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree in Medical Billing or related field.
Experience with insurance claims, collections, and reimbursement.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform standard office duties including typing, reaching, sitting, standing, and walking.
Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
Maintain physical and mental alertness to respond to multiple priorities.

Standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching for extended periods.
Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
Participation in CPI-approved physical interventions when necessary and appropriate.
Responding quickly to emergencies and crisis situations.
Working in environments with elevated noise levels and frequent movement.
