Full Job Description

Cunningham Excavation Inc. is a well-established construction company that is looking for a new team member. We are looking for an organized and detail-driven Accounting Assistant to support our Accounting Manager and Contract Administrators. This individual will be an asset in helping to keep our front office running smoothly.

The Accounting Assistant will act as the right hand to our Accounting Manager, managing high-volume data entry, invoicing workflows, and essential administrative tasks. This role is perfect for a professional with basic bookkeeping knowledge who thrives on accuracy, organization, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities:

Match vendor invoices with field delivery tickets and purchase orders for bookkeeper approval.
Perform high-volume data entry of accounts payable and accounts receivable into QuickBooks & Sage.
Assist the bookkeeper in preparing monthly client invoices and progress billings.
Collect, track, and organize critical subcontractor compliance documents, including lien waivers and certificates of insurance.
Organize and prepare financial files, receipts, and expense reports for tax season and monthly reconciliations.
Handle front-office tasks, including answering the main phone line, routing field calls, and greeting visitors.

Qualifications:

1–2 years of experience in an accounting clerk, administrative assistant, or junior bookkeeping role.
Prior experience working in construction, contracting, or a related trade industry is highly preferred.
Basic proficiency with QuickBooks or standard accounting systems.
Exceptional eye for detail and the ability to spot numerical errors.
Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
