Job Summary

Copperfit Industries Inc. is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in managing the daily accounting operations of the company while supporting financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and continuous process improvement. The Accounting Manager will supervise the accounting team and work closely with Operations, Sales, Purchasing, and executive leadership to support the company’s continued growth

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

Manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including overseeing the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Staff Accountant functions
Ensure timely and accurate processing of customer invoicing, collections, vendor payments, cash applications, bank reconciliations, journal entries, fixed assets, and general ledger activities
Coordinate and review month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring financial records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with GAAP and company policies

Team Leadership & Employee Development

Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team by establishing priorities, monitoring workloads, providing coaching, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing work environment
Promote accountability, continuous improvement, and excellent internal customer service across the accounting function

ERP, Inventory & Business Operations

Oversee the accounting functions within DDI ERP, ensuring the accuracy of customer and vendor master data, inventory transactions, purchase orders, sales orders, pricing updates, credit memos, and financial reporting
Partner with Operations, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Sales to ensure inventory accuracy, support physical inventory counts, maintain product costing, and improve cross-functional business processes
Support ERP enhancements, testing, reporting, and user training while identifying opportunities to improve system efficiency and data integrity

Pricing, Rebates & Customer Programs

Administer customer pricing, contract pricing, promotional pricing, and rebate programs within DDI ERP, ensuring pricing accuracy and compliance with approved customer agreements
Review pricing changes, reconcile rebate calculations, process rebate payments, and prepare pricing, rebate, and profitability analyses to support management and Sales

Financial Reporting, Compliance & Internal Controls

Assist the Controller with financial reporting, account reconciliations, budgeting support, audit preparation, sales and use tax filings, 1099 reporting, and other regulatory requirements
Develop, maintain, and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and standard operating procedures to strengthen compliance, improve efficiency, and support the company’s continued growth

Cross-Functional Partnership & Special Projects

Serve as the primary accounting partner to Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Operations, and Warehouse by providing financial guidance, resolving accounting and ERP-related issues, and supporting operational initiatives
Participate in system implementations, process improvement initiatives, and special projects as assigned by the Controller or executive leadership

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
8+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 5 years of supervisory experience
Experience managing month-end close and general accounting functions
Strong understanding of GAAP, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
Experience with ERP systems; DDI ERP experience is a plus
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, and communication skills
Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

Manufacturing or wholesale distribution industry experience
Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting
Experience improving accounting processes, SOPs, and internal controls
Experience supervising a small accounting team in a growing organization

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
