Full Job Description

Our automotive industry client is looking for a Production Manager. The individual will be responsible for overseeing all manufacturing operations to ensure production lines meet output targets, customer quality requirements, and IATF 16949 standards. This position is a full time (direct-hire) position.

Functions / Responsibilities

Oversee daily production activities to ensure assembly lines meet production schedules, quality standards, and output targets
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and all internal production procedures
Monitor and manage production performance metrics including OEE, downtime, scrap rates, and labor efficiency
Ensure production equipment is properly operated, monitored, and maintained through coordination with Maintenance and Engineering teams
Lead rapid response efforts for equipment malfunctions, process deviations, and quality concerns to minimize downtime
Review production data, analyze trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions
Maintain accurate production documentation, reports, work standards, and SAP system data entry
Ensure all standardized work instructions, engineering specifications, process controls, and safety procedures are followed
Oversee implementation and updates of work standard sheets, production floor postings, and process documentation
Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain departments to resolve production issues and improve workflow
Support APQP activities, production trials, new model launches, and process validation activities
Lead and mentor supervisors and production personnel, promoting accountability and high performance
Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and root cause analysis methodologies
Assist in planning weekend production schedules, staffing assignments, and task reporting as needed
Support internal, external, and customer audits, ensuring readiness and compliance
Promote and enforce workplace safety, 5S, and operational discipline across all production areas
Provide structured training for new hires and implement ongoing development programs to support employee skill growth and career progression
Control and monitor consumables and production materials to ensure availability, cost efficiency, and minimal waste

Experience with production equipment oversight and manufacturing process optimization
Proficiency in SAP, SPC, production reporting systems, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, and standardized work systems
Strong root cause analysis and corrective action implementation skills
Ability to multi-task and manage competing production priorities

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field preferred
7+ years of automotive manufacturing experience
5+ years in production leadership or management role
