Full Job Description

Overview

Embark on an exciting journey as an Entry-Level Bookkeeper, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the accounting team. This dynamic position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop foundational accounting skills, gain hands-on experience with leading financial software, and contribute to the smooth operation of financial processes. Responsibilities

Assist with daily bookkeeping tasks including data entry, account reconciliation, and journal entries using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and other financial systems
Support accounts payable and receivable processes by processing invoices, payments, and tracking outstanding balances
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between bank statements and company records
Help prepare financial reports and summaries by compiling data from spreadsheets and accounting software
Maintain general ledger accuracy through regular review and account analysis in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Support payroll processing activities, ensuring timely and accurate employee payments
Assist with month-end closing procedures including balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis

Qualifications

Prior experience or coursework in accounting or finance is preferred but not required; a strong desire to learn is essential
Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems is highly desirable
Knowledge of basic financial concepts including debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliation
Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data management and report writing
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Ability to perform 10-key typing accurately for data entry tasks
Basic understanding of governmental accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus but not mandatory
