Full Job Description

Summary

The Finance and Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial and accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies. This position manages financial close processes, prepares and analyzes financial statements, oversees accounts payable and receivable, supports budgeting and forecasting, and provides financial insights to leadership to support informed business decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following are the essential duties and responsibilities of a Finance and Accounting Manager. Other duties may be assigned.

 Oversee the day-to-day finance and accounting operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and complete financial transactions and records.

 Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting.

 Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements, management reports, and financial schedules to ensure accuracy and identify trends or variances.

 Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, general ledger, payroll accounting, and other core accounting functions.

 Manage the company’s budgeting and forecasting processes, working with department leaders to develop budgets, monitor performance, and identify variances.

 Analyze financial results and provide meaningful insights and recommendations to leadership to support business planning and decision-making.

 Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial position to support effective financial planning and operational needs.

 Ensure accurate account reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

 Establish and maintain effective internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.

 Ensure compliance with applicable accounting principles, tax requirements, regulatory requirements, and company policies and procedures.

 Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax professionals, banks, and other financial service providers as needed.

 Support annual audits and tax filings by preparing financial schedules, reconciliations, supporting documentation, and requested reports.

 Review financial transactions and accounting records for accuracy, appropriate coding, proper documentation, and compliance with established policies and procedures.

 Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable activity, including outstanding balances, collections, vendor payments, and cash requirements.

 Oversee the maintenance of accurate and organized financial records and ensure appropriate documentation is retained in accordance with company policies.

 Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and other analyses to provide leadership with visibility into company performance.

 Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, financial controls, reporting procedures, and overall operational efficiency.

 Evaluate and implement improvements to accounting systems, processes, and workflows to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.

 Provide guidance, training, and oversight to accounting staff and ensure responsibilities are appropriately assigned and completed.

 Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive financial, payroll, employee, customer, and company information.

 Assist with financial planning, business initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
