Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) to join our dedicated mental health care team. In this role, you will provide expert psychiatric nursing services, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for diverse patient populations. Your expertise will help improve mental health outcomes through innovative care delivery, collaboration with healthcare professionals, and evidence-based practices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in mental health care while working within a supportive and progressive environment.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including patient history, mental status examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform diagnosis and treatment strategies.
Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with collaborative practice agreements and DEA regulations, ensuring safe administration and monitoring.
Provide psychotherapy and counseling sessions tailored to individual patient needs, utilizing evidence-based approaches for behavioral health improvement.
Collaborate closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop integrated care plans that address physical and mental health needs.
Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and medication management.
Participate in clinical research initiatives to advance psychiatric practices and contribute to ongoing quality improvement projects.
Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications to promote recovery and resilience.

Requirements

Valid Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree with specialization in psychiatry or behavioral health nursing.
Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) with certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or equivalent credential.
Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those in hospice & palliative medicine settings.
Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for medical documentation and patient management.
Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, medication administration protocols, and drug enforcement regulations (DEA).
Experience with telehealth platforms to provide remote psychiatric services effectively.
Familiarity with critical care environments such as ICU or emergency medicine is advantageous for comprehensive patient assessment skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
