Job Summary

Personal injury law firm seeks experienced Office Manager / Paralegal for part-time work. Must have at least 10 years of law office management experience, be proficient in QuickBooks bookkeeping, and have a strong track record in writing and packaging personal injury demand letters.

Qualifications:

10+ years in legal office management/paralegal roles.

QuickBooks and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Strong legal writing skills with personal injury case experience.

Exceptional organizational and multitasking ability.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of personal injury law and demonstrate exceptional organizational and communication skills. This role involves assisting attorneys in managing cases, conducting legal research, and ensuring that all documentation is accurate and timely.

Duties

Assist attorneys in the preparation of personal injury cases, including gathering evidence and documentation.

Oversee daily operations of a busy personal injury law firm.
Draft and package persuasive personal injury demand letters.
Manage QuickBooks accounting, billing, and office finances.
Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
Manage case files and ensure all documents are properly organized within document management Dropbox.
Maintain organized case calendars, and deadlines.
Interview clients and witnesses to gather pertinent information for cases.
Review medical records, police reports, and other relevant documents for case preparation.
Maintain communication with clients regarding case status and updates.
Perform data entry and clerical tasks to support the legal team effectively.
Ensure compliance with court deadlines and filing requirements.

Qualifications

Proven paralegal experience, preferably in personal injury law or related fields such as workers' compensation law or family law.
Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation practices.
Familiarity with project management principles to assist in case organization.
Proficient in using legal software such as PCLaw, iManage, or similar systems.
Excellent writing skills with a keen eye for proofreading and document review.
Ability to conduct legal research efficiently using various online databases.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Experience in administrative roles within a law office setting is highly desirable.
Knowledge of other areas of law such as estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law is a plus.
