Full Job Description

First Coast Metalworks | Jacksonville, FL

First Coast Metalworks is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Fabricator to join our team. If you take pride in quality craftsmanship, enjoy building custom projects, and want to work in a fast-paced fabrication shop, we'd like to hear from you.

From one-off prototypes to repeat production runs, you'll work on a wide variety of projects serving industrial, commercial, pharmaceutical, and defense customers.

Responsibilities

Fabricate components from engineering drawings and shop prints.
Perform MIG welding on carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
Perform TIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum.
Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work instructions.
Cut, fit, grind, and prepare materials for welding and assembly.
Operate fabrication equipment including CNC plasma tables, press brakes, saws, grinders, drills, and other common shop equipment.
Measure and inspect parts to ensure they meet customer specifications and quality standards.
Work with the engineering and production teams to solve fabrication challenges.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Assist with installation projects when required.

Qualifications

3+ years of fabrication and welding experience preferred.
Strong MIG welding skills are required.
TIG welding experience on stainless steel and aluminum is required.
Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
Experience using measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, squares, and other inspection equipment.
Comfortable using common fabrication equipment and power tools.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Experience

CNC plasma cutting experience.
Press brake operation.
Pipe and tube fabrication.
Grinding, polishing, and finishing stainless steel.
Forklift and overhead crane experience.
OSHA or other safety training.
