Full Job Description

Job Title: Human Resource Generalist

The human resources (HR) generalist manages the day-to-day operations of the human resource office of a company, as well as the administration of the human resources policies, procedures, and programs. HR departments generally handle employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and employment

Human Resources Generalist Duties & Responsibilities

The job generally requires the ability to perform the following duties:

Recruiting and notifying the Plant Manager of available candidates
When it is determined that an employee is being hired, it is the HR’s responsibility to completely and accurately complete the new hire package with the candidate on a timely basis and forward it to the Human Resource Manager.
Organizational and space planning: When completing documentation or group meetings occur it is important that HR makes management aware of spacing problems to ensure confidentiality and social distancing requirements are being met.
Keep current on changes to requirements as set forth by the state requirements as it pertains to not only COVID requirements but employee labor laws and reporting as well. This information should be brought to the attention of the HR Manager to assist in improving the work environment.
Regulatory compliance and reporting: This includes but is not limited to maintaining OSHA requirements such as OSHA 300; using the current form I-9, and etc.
Employee orientation, development, and training: it is the HR’s responsibility to ensure that employee files are maintained and kept in a secure site. All I-9’s of current employees are to be maintained in one folder. Each employee is to have there own manilla colored folder that holds their personnel information. The employee who has had any medical situation, worker’s compensation claim, or a general incident, such as falling etc should have a red folder with his/her name on it. A green folder should be maintained with any employee training certificates, such as forklift training and certifications for any employee that it applies to.
Proper Documentation of Terminated Employees: Federal regulations state that an employees I-9 must be retained for the later of 3 years after being hired or 1 year after being terminated. Once an employee is terminated, the folder should be pulled the date of hire and the date of

termination should be written on the folder, the I-9 should be pulled and these documents should be maintained separately.

Policy documentation: When employees are hired or policies changed or are implemented it is HR’s responsibility to ensure all employees sign and are aware of the policies. For example: dress code, smartphone use, smoking rules, and etc.
Ensures that company polices are properly posted.
Compensation and benefits administration: HR needs to convey the vacation and holiday policy to employees. It is HR’s responsibility to assist the HR Manager when paying the holiday, vacation, or any other pay to be aware of the employees’ eligibility. It is the HR’s responsibility to ensure Fareclock is properly maintained and updated. It is HR’s responsibility to ensure that the hours are correctly reflected in Fareclock ready to upload to payroll on Monday’s.
If an incident occurs at the work place it is important that HR ensures that an incident report is completed, a copy of the tape is made and uploaded to Sharepoint and the appropriate people are notified. A copy of the completed report must be filed in the appropriate folder. HR must notify the HR Manager of all incidences on a timely basis.
To conform with COVID requirements, HR should be taking everyone’s temperature (maintain a chart) as they are entering the building.
Confidentiality, problem solving, and good communication skills are very important responsibilities to maintain.
Ensures offices supplies and employee PPE supplies such as masks are available for all employees.
Scans in all incoming trucks and forwards the information to the appropriate employees.
HR needs to be willing to help where needed, not only as it pertains to the items listed above.

Pay: $45,000.00 per year
