Job Description

Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented full-time Medical Billing Specialist to join our growing team in Utah County. The Medical Billing Specialist will be responsible for managing insurance claims, payment posting, billing follow-up, and revenue cycle operations to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement. This is an exciting opportunity to help build efficient revenue cycle processes in modern, patient-centered orthopedic practice. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and experienced in medical billing, insurance claims, and patient account management.

Responsibilities

Submit and manage insurance claims electronically and manually
Review and correct claim denials and rejections
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
Post insurance and patient payments accurately
Follow up on unpaid or outstanding claims
Communicate with insurance carriers regarding claim status and appeals
Assist patients with billing questions and payment arrangements
Maintain accurate patient billing records in EMR/practice management systems
Monitor accounts receivable and aging reports
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
Collaborate with providers and staff to improve documentation and coding accuracy

Qualifications

Minimum 1–2 years of medical billing experience preferred
Orthopedic billing experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and insurance claim processes
Experience with EMR and practice management software
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently

Preferred Experience

Orthopedic, surgical, or specialty clinic billing
Prior experience with prior authorizations and appeals
Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance carriers
