Trauma Program Nurse Manager
Nemours Children's Health - Orlando, FL

Nemours Children's Health in Orlando is seeking an experienced Trauma Program Manager to join our growing team and help shape the future of pediatric trauma care in Central Florida.

Position Overview
The Trauma Program Nurse Manager is a registered nurse leader who organizes and oversees the services and systems essential to a multidisciplinary approach in caring for injured pediatric patients. Working in partnership with the Trauma Medical Director, this leader ensures the highest standards of care, compliance with state trauma system regulations, and continuous improvement in patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Organizes trauma interdisciplinary services and systems to achieve optimal patient care in collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director. Collaboratively with the Trauma Medical Director, assures compliance with all Florida Department of Health standards pertaining to Pediatric Trauma Center designation
Directs the planning and development of the trauma program including the development and management of the program's operational budget
Assumes day to day responsibility for processes and performance improvement activities related to the care of the pediatric trauma patient
Identifies departmental and organizational quality indicators; monitors and evaluates performance in achievement of outcomes
Functions as an expert practitioner who provides for clinical needs of trauma patients, both directly and indirectly
Responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of all trauma policies and protocols
Supervises personnel and assists in the development and maintenance of the Trauma Registry by tracking components of trauma care in a timely and comprehensive manner in order to evaluate patient care outcomes
Participates in the regional / state trauma system
Provides leadership and opportunities for professional educational efforts of the trauma program
Provides feedback for both hospital and pre-hospital personnel
Maintains effective communication and follow-up with referring facilities
Participates in educational, research, professional, and organizational activities that contribute to improving patient care, and trauma program operations

Position Requirements

Current active RN license is required or APRN-Nurse Practitioner or MSC Physician Assistant
Master's degree required
Minimum of three years of emergency and trauma experience; trauma system experience preferred
American Heart Association BLS, PALS and ACLS within 30 days of hire

Short- and Long-Term Disability - All associates are automatically covered by our short-term disability coverage with income protection for disabilities caused by illness, accident or injury that are not work-related, at 60% of your salary.
