Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant and Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, medical administrative support, and clinical procedures within outpatient or hospital settings. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient service, support clinical operations, and ensure smooth front-desk management. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent communication skills, proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology and physiology.

Duties

Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and assist with patient intake processes.
Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature accurately.
Prepare patients for examinations by documenting medical histories and current symptoms.
Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks including medication administration, X-ray procedures, and basic life support when necessary.
Manage appointment scheduling, patient records, and data entry within EHR systems to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
Support clinical staff with tasks related to dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or outpatient services as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries promptly and ensuring a positive experience throughout their visit.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine environments.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and medication administration protocols.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as X-ray or OR experience are advantageous.
Familiarity with EHR systems and medical-surgical procedures across various specialties including geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Level I/II trauma centers.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in fast-paced settings such as urgent care or hospital environments.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of diverse backgrounds and collaborate with healthcare teams.
Prior clinic experience in dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or inpatient settings is highly desirable. Join our team to provide compassionate patient care while supporting vital clinical operations in a dynamic healthcare environment!
