Department: Emergency Services
Reports To: Nurse Operations Manager / Facility Director

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Room Nurse to join our team at a free-standing emergency department (FSED). This facility provides emergency care for patients of all ages and operates independently from a hospital campus while maintaining the same standards of emergency care. The ER Nurse will assess, triage, and provide direct care to patients experiencing a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform rapid assessments, triage, and ongoing monitoring of emergency patients using evidence-based protocols.
Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy as prescribed and in accordance with facility and nursing protocols.
Collaborate with emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, radiology, and lab personnel to deliver high-quality, timely care.
Manage critical situations such as trauma, cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and other life-threatening conditions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
Provide patient and family education regarding treatment, follow-up care, and discharge instructions.
Ensure the ER environment is clean, organized, stocked, and compliant with safety standards.
Participate in emergency preparedness drills, continuing education, and performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Required:

Current RN license in the state of Florida
Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Room or critical care experience
Current BLS (Basic Life Support)

Preferred:

Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) credential
Prior experience in a free-standing ER or hospital ER

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Team-oriented with a commitment to collaborative care
Technologically adept with EHR systems and emergency equipment

Work Environment:

Fast-paced, high-acuity emergency care setting
8 hour shifts with occasional holiday or weekend coverage depending on facility needs
