Full Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced and people-focused Human Resources Coordinator to support the full spectrum of Human Resources operations. This role is ideal for an HR professional who is passionate about employee engagement, compliance, and delivering outstanding service while supporting recruitment, onboarding, benefits, payroll, employee records, and HR programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

Coordinate the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
Conduct reference and background checks as required.
Prepare employment offers and onboarding documentation.
Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure completion of all required employment forms.
Coordinate new hire uniforms, badges, system access, and department introductions.
Maintain applicant tracking records.

Employee Records

Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files.
Process employment status changes, promotions, transfers, and separations.
Update HR information systems (HRIS) and employee databases.
Ensure all employee documentation is complete and compliant.

Benefits & Payroll Support

Assist employees with benefit enrollment and related questions.
Coordinate benefits documentation and communicate changes with benefit providers.
Support payroll by processing employee changes, timekeeping corrections, and required documentation.
Assist in resolving payroll discrepancies.

Employee Relations

Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
Assist with employee recognition programs and engagement activities.
Coordinate employee events and wellness initiatives.
Support investigations and documentation related to employee concerns as directed.

Compliance

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Maintain I-9 forms and employment eligibility documentation.
Coordinate mandatory training and compliance requirements.
Assist during audits and prepare required reports.

Training & Development

Schedule training sessions and maintain training records.
Track certifications and required compliance training.
Assist with performance review administration.

Administrative Responsibilities

Answer HR department phone calls and emails.
Prepare reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, and HR documents.
Order office supplies and maintain HR forms.
Coordinate meetings and maintain department calendars.
Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

Associate's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience

Minimum of 1–2 years of Human Resources or administrative experience.
Hospitality or resort experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Bilingual – Spanish/English.
Knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Experience with HRIS and payroll systems preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Ability to operate standard office equipment.
May require occasional walking throughout the resort property.

Work Environment

Office environment with frequent interaction with employees, managers, applicants, and vendors.
Occasional attendance at recruitment events, employee meetings, and training sessions.
May require flexibility to work weekends, holidays, or extended hours during recruitment events or business needs.
