Custom Metal Fabrication Shop located in Tacoma is looking for an experienced fabricator to join our team.

This position requires self-sufficiency. Supervision under special circumstances with an expectation of little to no supervision of typical projects after the training period is complete.

Skills Required:

Experience in welding, cutting, grinding and finishing. Basic Math Skills, ability to read tape measure and work with a variety of tools.

The applicant needs to be self-motivated, able to multi-task, work independently on assignments with minimal oversight or direction, be able to work to verbal and written instructions and be quality- oriented. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to visualize a finished product.

The individual must be able to fabricate from CAD Drawing. Must have attention to detail and desire to produce the highest quality work. Positive attitude and dedication to attendance. Ability to lift 75 lbs and stand for long periods of time.

You have to be responsible and get to work on time, demonstrate a strong work ethic and be ready for hard work.

Duties and responsibilities:

Welding:
· Set up welding machine: wire, gas, tips, liners, nozzles, correct filler metal
· Familiar with weld processes for mig, tig and stick
· Weld prep: beveling, cleaning and deburring
· Heat distortion
· Clean welds/remove splatter, Identify subpar welds

Reading Blueprints:
· Understand shop drawings
· Create cut list and parts list
· Identify materials and sizes
· Understand angles and layout: use tape measure and cross tape

Machine Puts:
· Drill Holes/Run drill press
· Countersink
· Tap threads

Installation:
· On an as needed basis
· Onsite fabrication
· Work in variable weather conditions: Rain, wind, snow, ect.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary:

From $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Bonus program after 90 days

Schedule:

Monday to Friday – 6:30-3:00
Overtime on an as-needed basis

Experience:

Leadership: 2 years (Preferred)
Fabrication: 5 years (Required)
Welding: 5 years (Required)
