Full Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position will have responsibility and oversight of all accounting policies, processes and controls, maintenance of financial records, debt financing, consolidation of financial results and preparation of internal and external financial reports. The bookkeeper/accountant reports directly to the Treasurer and Board of Directors and will be required to work closely in collaboration with the Clubhouse Manager, the Greens & Grounds Superintendent, and the Head Golf Professional. This person must have the ability to work independently while contributing to the team environment and provide excellent internal and external service.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Maintain the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities for the following:
Accounts Payable, Cash Disbursements, Invoice and Member Billing, Member Credit and Collections, Bi-weekly Payroll, Perpetual Inventory, Fixed Assets
Develop and issue timely monthly Financial Statements for the Board of Directors to include Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Departmental results.
Responsible for developing/coordinating the annual operating and capital budget for the Club and assuring financial plans are consistent with organizational goals.
Administer employee benefits and retirement plan
Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, and product costing.
Communicate with outside audit firm, banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent, retirement administers, and merchant processors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Three to five years of experience in a finance or accounting position.
Prior supervisory experience in mainstream accounting, covering A/R, A/P, credit, collections, and general ledger.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES:

Comprehensive knowledge of accounting, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting processes.
Ability to read, interpret, and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
High level of organization and time management skills.
Multi-tasker who has the proven ability to lead as well as be hands-on in a fast-paced small organization.
Strong analytical, interpersonal, written communication and problem-solving skills.
Must have a high level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
