SHORT DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY:

Exceptional cuisine, thoughtfully prepared. Mirbeau Inn & Spa [Beacon] is seeking a talented and refined Line Cook to join our resort’s culinary team. This role is ideal for a skilled culinary professional who values the power of hospitality through food. You’ll prepare fresh, seasonal dishes with purpose, flavor and balance, contributing to a team that values clean ingredients, presentation, and culinary excellence. As a Line Cook for Mirbeau, you'll work alongside a professional culinary team, contributing to a thoughtful menu designed to complement wellness and elevated guest experiences. You’ll prepare fresh, balanced cuisine, maintaining the culinary standards that support our Forbes-rated service. This position requires strong technique, composure under pressure, and a genuine passion for food that nourishes the body. This role is expected to perform the responsibilities as outlined below, always guided by culinary integrity and respect for the experience each dish creates.

Pay Rate: $20-$24 per hour

Job Responsibilities:

Food Preparation & Production

Set up and stock the production line, ensuring all menu items are properly prepared and available
Prepare all menu items according to Mirbeau recipes and specifications, maintaining quality, consistency and timeliness
Follow portioning, plating and presentation guidelines
Verify that daily specials and standard menu items are prepared according to recipe guidelines and service timelines
Coordinate with the pantry prep cook to ensure garnishes, salads and condiments are ready for each service period
Ensure the production line is fully stocked and ready prior to each service period
Maintain full readiness of the line throughout service periods, restocking and adjusting as needed
Break down and clean the line at the end of each service

Communication & Collaboration

Maintain open and effective communication with the [F&B Manager] and Head Chef regarding menu changes, updates or shortages, prep needs, or service issues
Contribute to a positive kitchen environment by offering ideas and improvements, address challenges, and contribute solutions to enhance kitchen productivity and food quality
Collaborate professionally with kitchen and FOH staff to ensure seamless service

Cleanliness & Food Safety

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all work areas and personal grooming
Maintain a clean and organized workstation
Handle, label and store food properly and safely to prevent spoilage, waste or food safety hazards
Adhere to all food safety guidelines and kitchen procedures at all times
Practice proper hygiene and personal cleanliness at all times
Follow all allergy-related procedures, ensuring meals are safely prepared, plated and served, keeping the safety and trust of the guest in mind

Professional Conduct

Report to work on time, in a clean uniform with name tag, and with a professionally groomed
Uphold the standards of excellence expected in both service and appearance
Follow all instructions from the [F&B Manager] and Head Chef, and complete additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications, Skills & Educational Requirements:

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in fine dining or refined restaurant kitchens
Culinary school education is a strong plus
Prior experience working in high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment

Skills & Knowledge

Strong communication skills
Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment, tools and preparation methods
Ability to read and follow recipes accurately and consistently
Excellent time management, multitasking and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, consistency and presentation
Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
Focused, goal-oriented, and dependable under pressure
