Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to join our Legal team! This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine essential bookkeeping responsibilities with legal administrative support, ensuring smooth financial operations and organizational efficiency. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong technical accounting skills, and demonstrate a proactive approach to managing financial records and administrative tasks. Your expertise will help maintain accurate financial data, support compliance with accounting standards, and contribute to the overall success of our organization.

Duties

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken, including data entry and transaction categorization
Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records
Prepare and process journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to verify the integrity of financial data
Handle administrative duties such as managing correspondence, scheduling appointments for cliens, filing and answering phone calls

Requirements

Proven experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken; familiarity with multiple platforms is preferred
Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, non-profit accounting practices, and governmental accounting standards
Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping system, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting
Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, account analysis, and financial software tools
Excellent organizational skills with proficiency in 10-key typing for data entry accuracy
Strong communication skills for collaborating across teams and documenting financial processes effectively
Attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
