Location: Oxnard, California

Job Details

Pay: $ 19.00 – $24.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Work Setting: Outpatient, Office, In-person

About the Role

Oxnard Cardiovascular Medical Group (OCVMG) is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly organized Medical Assistant to join our care team.

This is a dynamic role for someone who enjoys being involved across the patient journey. You will support both front-office and back-office clinical operations, while also helping patients stay engaged with their care between visits through our Chronic Care Management (CCM) and Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) programs.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of Medical Assistant experience, communicates warmly and confidently with patients, and is comfortable balancing clinical responsibilities, administrative tasks, and ongoing patient outreach.

Above all, we are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, works well as part of a team, and genuinely enjoys helping patients receive coordinated, attentive care.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical & Back-Office Support

Assist physicians and clinical staff with patient examinations, procedures, and day-to-day clinical activities.
Prepare patients for visits, including obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical histories, medication information, and chief complaints.
Accurately document patient information in eClinicalworks.l
Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring appropriate cleanliness, supplies, and readiness for patient care.
Perform Medical Assistant clinical duties within scope of practice, including injections, phlebotomy, and other basic clinical procedures as directed.
Support efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.
Communicate physician instructions, follow-up requirements, and care information to patients as appropriate.
Front-Office & Administrative Support
Assist with appointment scheduling, patient check-in/check-out, and telephone communication.
Respond professionally and compassionately to patient questions and requests.
Support insurance verification, referrals, prior authorizations, and other administrative workflows as needed.
Coordinate with physicians, clinical staff, patients, pharmacies, specialists, and other healthcare organizations to help ensure continuity of care.
Help identify and resolve issues that may delay or disrupt a patient's care.

Chronic Care Management (CCM) & Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM)

Support eligible patients enrolled in OCVMG's Chronic Care Management and Remote Patient Monitoring programs.
Conduct regular patient outreach and follow-up under established clinical workflows.
Help patients understand and participate in their ongoing care plans.
Review incoming RPM information and help identify readings, symptoms, or patient concerns requiring escalation to the appropriate clinical team member.
Document patient interactions, care-management activities, and follow-up actions accurately and promptly.
Assist with medication reconciliation, appointment follow-up, care coordination, and other activities that help patients manage their chronic conditions.
Build trusted relationships with patients through consistent, empathetic communication.
Work closely with physicians and the broader care team to ensure patient concerns are communicated and addressed appropriately.

What We're Looking For

3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician practice, clinic, or similar healthcare setting.
High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant diploma or certificate preferred.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is a plus.
Strong clinical Medical Assistant skills, including experience taking vital signs and supporting common in-office procedures.
Experience with eclinicalwroks systems and comfort learning new healthcare technology.
Ability and willingness to work across both front-office and back-office responsibilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
Comfortable communicating with patients by phone and conducting proactive patient outreach.
Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to follow through on patient needs.
Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, clinical staff, and administrative team members.
Previous experience with cardiology, primary care, chronic care management, remote patient monitoring, or care coordination is a plus, but not required.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Flexibility to work on weekends is a plus.
