Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities, ensuring efficient operations, compliance with food safety standards, and effective team leadership. This role manages a team of 15–20 warehouse associates while maintaining inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping
Lead, coach, and develop a team of 15–20 warehouse employees to meet productivity and performance goals
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including FDA, USDA, HACCP, and GMP standards
Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing OSHA regulations and company safety policies
Oversee inventory control, cycle counts, and accuracy to minimize loss and shrink
Implement and maintain warehouse best practices to improve efficiency, quality, and cost control
Coordinate with supply chain, logistics, and transportation teams to ensure timely order fulfillment
Monitor KPIs such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, labor efficiency, and inventory turnover
Manage warehouse documentation, audits, and certification requirements
Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization
Address employee performance issues, scheduling, and workforce planning

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent) preferred
Warehouse and logistics certifications strongly preferred
Proven experience managing 15–20 warehouse employees
Strong knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, FDA/USDA compliance)
Experience working in food and beverage warehouse environments
Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience
Strong analytical and reporting skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Hands-on leadership style with a focus on accountability and teamwork

ERP / Systems Knowledge (Fishbowl)

Strong understanding of Fishbowl ERP (Inventory Management System) for warehouse and inventory operations or similar ERP systems.
Experience using Fishbowl for receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory tracking
Maintain accurate inventory records, lot tracking, expiration dates, and FIFO/FEFO controls within Fishbowl
Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies and system errors using Fishbowl reports and tools
Generate and analyze operational reports (inventory levels, order status, cycle counts, variances)
Train and support warehouse staff on proper Fishbowl system usage and best practices
Collaborate with accounting, purchasing, and operations teams to ensure ERP data accuracy and integration
