Position Summary

The Legal Assistant/Paralegal provides administrative, organizational, and legal support to attorneys and clients. Successful candidates are detail-oriented, professional, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

Assignments may vary depending on firm needs and experience and may involve litigation, transactional, estate planning, real estate, corporate, employment, or other areas of law.

Key Responsibilities

Assist attorneys with case and matter management
Draft, proofread, and prepare legal correspondence and documents
Prepare pleadings, contracts, discovery materials, and other filings
Maintain and organize electronic and physical client files
Communicate professionally with clients, courts, agencies, and opposing counsel
Schedule appointments, hearings, meetings, and deadlines
Manage calendars and assist with docketing responsibilities
Perform legal and factual research as assigned
Assist with document collection, review, and organization
Coordinate filings with local, state, and federal courts
Support attorneys in providing exceptional client service
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client information

Qualifications

Prior experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or in a legal office environment preferred
Paralegal certificate, associate degree, or equivalent experience is a plus
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and legal technology platforms
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail
Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
Commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and client service
