Full Job Description

Position Title: Staff Pharmacist – Compounding
Department: Pharmacy / Compounding
Reports To: Pharmacy Manager / Director of Pharmacy
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Holiday, FL (on-site)

Job Overview

The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for reviewing, verifying, and overseeing the preparation of compounded medications, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. A primary focus is PV1 and PV2 verification in a high-volume compounding environment, ensuring accuracy, patient safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform PV1 and PV2 verification for all compounded prescriptions.
Ensure all orders meet USP <795>/<797>/<800> standards, state regulations, and pharmacy SOPs.
Collaborate with pharmacy technicians, production staff, and order entry staff to manage workflow in a high-volume environment.
Monitor compounded medications for accuracy, labeling, and packaging compliance.
Identify and correct discrepancies in prescriptions or compounding batches.
Provide guidance and support to pharmacy technicians and production staff.
Maintain accurate documentation of all verified orders.
Ensure proper handling and storage of controlled substances and temperature-sensitive medications.
Utilize pharmacy software systems efficiently; knowledge of PK Software and LifeFile is preferred.

2. Required Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
Active state pharmacist license required.
Experience in sterile or non-sterile compounding preferred.
Prior experience in high-volume pharmacy or compounding environment preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Knowledge of PV1 and PV2 verification processes.
Understanding of USP <795>/<797>/<800> and applicable federal/state regulations.
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours), Monday - Friday

Pay: From $60.00 per hour
