Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Front Desk Staff with Medical Assistant experience to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing administrative and clinical tasks. Your expertise in medical administrative support, electronic health records (EHR) management, and patient service will help streamline clinic operations, support clinical staff, and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine front desk responsibilities with hands-on medical assisting duties in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in procedures.
Manage appointment scheduling using EMR systems such as CareCloud, Meditech, or Cerner, ensuring efficient patient flow.
Verify insurance coverage, process medical collections, and handle billing inquiries related to Medicare, health insurance plans, and other payers.
Review and update medical records accurately while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as preparing exam rooms, documenting care plans, and assisting providers to complete charts.
Utilize medical coding knowledge including CPT codes, ICD-9/10 codes for documentation review and billing purposes.
Handle phone communication professionally with patients and providers, scheduling appointments and answering inquiries with clear phone etiquette.
Maintain proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like CareCloud, Meditech, or Cerner for accurate data entry and management of electronic health records.
Support clinic operations by filing documents, performing 10-key typing tasks, managing medical records filing systems, and performing clerical duties efficiently.

Experience

Prior clinic experience working in a healthcare setting as a front desk receptionist or medical administrative support role is required.
Demonstrated experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is essential.
Knowledge of medical billing processes including medical collection procedures and health insurance claims handling is highly preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), Medicare policies, and health information management practices is necessary.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail is critical.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) along with electronic health record management are required.
