Essential Duties and responsibilities for Outside Sales Representatives:

Develops new customer accounts through cold calls, contacting subcontractors in the area, contacting companies who previously rejected proposals, etc.
Visits job sites regularly
Inventory knowledge- stay educated on materials available and new products coming in.
Negotiate pricing levels to encourage business
Increase business with current customers
Obtains and records current information on customers
Evaluates jobs and provides estimates
Recommends adjustments to current product line and pricing to remain competitive
Provides pre-lien information to A/R Bookkeeper/Credit Manager
Is aware of competitors prices and products
Take small deliveries as needed
Submit sold jobs to manager

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals and professional journals
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentage, area, circumference and volume.
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service
Computer skills
