We are seeking a polished, professional, and hospitality-driven Doorman to join the team at a premier, luxury co-op residence in Manhattan. As the first point of contact for shareholders, residents, and guests, the Doorman provides a commanding yet welcoming presence. This role is responsible for delivering flawless white-glove service, ensuring building security, maintaining a pristine lobby environment, and upholding the strict privacy and standards of a high-profile residential community.

Key ResponsibilitiesHospitality & Resident Relations

Greeting & Assistance: Provide an exceptionally warm, professional welcome to residents and guests. Proactively assist with opening doors, carrying packages, luggage, and hailing taxicabs or coordinating rideshares.
White-Glove Service: Anticipate resident needs and recognize shareholders and frequent visitors by name to deliver highly personalized service.
Communication: Announce all visitors, couriers, and contractors to residents prior to granting building access, strictly adhering to building protocol.

Lobby & Package Management

Deliveries: Receive, log, and securely store incoming packages, mail, and dry cleaning. Notify residents promptly of deliveries using the building’s management software (e.g., BuildingLink).
Front-of-House Maintenance: Maintain the absolute cleanliness and presentation of the main entrance, sidewalk, and lobby area. Ensure the entryway is clear of debris, snow, or ice.

Security & Safety

Access Control: Monitor the main entrance and security cameras to prevent unauthorized entry. Ensure all contractors, service workers, and guests log in and out properly.
Emergency Response: Act as a calm, authoritative figure during emergencies (medical, fire, mechanical). Coordinate smoothly with emergency services, the Resident Manager/Superintendent, and building management.
Shift Handover: Conduct thorough shift briefings with oncoming staff to pass along pending deliveries, resident instructions, or maintenance notes.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a doorman or concierge in a luxury NYC residential building (Co-op/Condo), or equivalent high-end hospitality experience (5-star hotels).
Professionalism: Impeccable grooming, posture, and verbal communication skills. Uniforms must be kept pristine.
Discretion: Absolute commitment to confidentiality and respecting the privacy of high-net-worth and high-profile residents.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods (often the entire shift), lift and carry heavy packages or luggage up to 50 lbs, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Tech-Savvy: Basic computer literacy to manage digital logbooks, visitor systems, and shift logs.
