Job Description – Intake Coordinator

Stepping Stones Recovery Housing – Lexington, Kentucky

Position Title: Intake Coordinator
Location: Lexington, KY
Department: Admissions & Community Outreach
Reports To: Executive Leadership

Position Summary

The Intake Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between Stepping Stones Recovery Housing and the recovery community throughout Central Kentucky. This position is responsible for developing referral relationships, coordinating admissions, increasing occupancy through community engagement, and ensuring prospective residents experience a seamless admission process.

The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about substance use recovery, understands the continuum of care, has established relationships within the recovery community, and possesses excellent communication and networking skills.

Essential Job ResponsibilitiesCommunity Outreach & Business Development

Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with:
Drug Courts
Circuit, District, and Family Courts
Probation & Parole Offices
Residential Treatment Centers
Detox Facilities
Hospitals and Emergency Departments
Behavioral Health Organizations
MAT/OBOT Providers
Peer Support Programs
Community Corrections
Recovery Community Organizations
Homeless Coalitions and Shelters
Veterans Organizations
Conduct weekly visits to referral sources.
Represent Stepping Stones at recovery events, resource fairs, and community meetings.
Present information regarding recovery housing services to community partners.
Develop new referral relationships to increase occupancy.

Intake & Admissions

Respond promptly to all referral inquiries.
Complete initial phone screenings with potential residents.
Determine eligibility according to Stepping Stones admission criteria.
Coordinate admissions with clinical staff and house management.
Schedule move-ins and orientations.
Ensure all required admission paperwork is completed accurately.
Maintain communication with referral sources regarding admission status.

Collaboration

Work closely with:
Peer Support Supervisors
Case Managers
Clinical Team
Housing Staff
Executive Leadership
Communicate bed availability.
Participate in interdisciplinary meetings.
Coordinate transportation when appropriate.

Relationship Management

Maintain positive relationships with:
Judges
Drug Court Coordinators
Attorneys
Probation Officers
Treatment Providers
Recovery Coaches
Community Stakeholders
Follow up with referral partners regularly.
Provide updates regarding available housing and services.

Marketing & Community Engagement

Promote Stepping Stones Recovery Housing throughout Central Kentucky.
Assist with community presentations.
Participate in outreach campaigns.
Help organize open houses and networking events.
Maintain a professional presence representing the organization.

Documentation

Document all referral contacts.
Maintain referral logs and admission tracking.
Monitor occupancy reports.
Prepare monthly outreach reports.
Track referral sources and conversion rates.

Qualifications

Required

High School Diploma or GED (Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred).
Minimum of two years of experience in behavioral health, recovery support, case management, peer support, admissions, or community outreach.
Knowledge of substance use disorder treatment and recovery housing.
Strong understanding of community resources.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
Ability to travel throughout Central Kentucky.

Preferred

Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS).
Experience working with Drug Courts or the criminal justice system.
Existing relationships within the Kentucky recovery community.
Experience with behavioral health documentation systems.

Mission of the Position:

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
