Senior Electrical Estimator

Help Write the Next 50 Years of Colorado's Skyline

Location: Castle Rock, CO 80109 | Schedule: Hybrid, minimum 50% on-site | Type: Full-time

Fifty Years In. Just Getting Started.

Lakewood Electric has spent half a century building Colorado's commercial electrical landscape — one job at a time, one relationship at a time. Now we're scaling, and we need a Senior Estimator who doesn't just crunch numbers, but decides which fights are worth winning.

This Isn't a Spreadsheet Job

If you've ever watched a project get bid wrong — underpriced, over-promised, or handed off as a mess — you already know why this role exists. You'll own the bid from RFP to submission, decide what we chase and how we price it, and hand the field a plan that actually builds the way you priced it.

Your fingerprints will be on:

Every bid/no-bid call and the strategy behind it
Takeoffs in Accubid and Bluebeam, grounded in real field productivity — not just plan quantities
Risk flags and value-engineering ideas pulled straight from the specs, before they become field problems
Pre-bid walkthroughs where you're gathering intel firsthand, not estimating blind
Vendor and sub relationships tight enough to get you the quote that actually wins the job
A clean handoff to PMs and field teams — your estimate becomes their playbook, not their headache

What You Bring to the Table

7+ years commercial electrical estimating (Design-Build, Design-Assist, or Bid-Build)
Fluency in Accubid, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
A working command of NEC code and a real-time read on material and labor markets
Field time as a Journeyman or Foreman — you know how it gets installed, not just how it's drawn
The ability to defend a complex number, on deadline, to people who weren't in the room
