Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver / Personal Care Assistant to join our team and provide exceptional support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized care. The ideal candidate will be energetic, attentive, and committed to promoting independence, safety, and well-being for our clients. Paid positions are available, ensuring you are recognized for your valuable contributions from day one.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
Support clients with medication administration following prescribed schedules and safety protocols
Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation
Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met
Follow safe patient lifting practices and manual handling procedures to prevent injury during transfers or repositioning
Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping duties such as cleaning and laundry

Qualifications

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred
Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and behavior management techniques
Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; ongoing training is supported
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is advantageous
Ability to operate a standard passenger car safely for client transportation or errands
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members
Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks and assist with resident transfers safely
Long-term care experience or home & community care background is a plus

Required:

Minimum 1 year of caregiving experience (home care, assisted living, nursing home, or private duty)
Reliable transportation
Valid driver’s license
CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain before starting)
Ability to pass a background check
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, dependable, and professional demeanor

Preferred:

CNA certification
Experience with dementia care
Experience with veterans or adults with disabilities
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
