Full Job Description

The Restaurant Host consistently provides prompt, courteous service by greeting all guests and oversees dining room activities. Interact with guests in a professional and friendly manner, working as a team to ensure guest satisfaction.

The Company also operates five renowned golf courses: Pebble Beach Golf Links, home of the 2027 U.S. Open, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, The Links at Spanish Bay, Del Monte Golf Course, and the Tiger Woods designed short course, The Hay.

Its other famed properties include scenic 17-Mile Drive, The Spa at Pebble Beach, Forbes Five-Star certified since 2014, Pebble Beach Golf Academy & Practice Facility, and a diverse offering of culinary and retail experiences. PBC annually hosts premier events such as the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, TaylorMade Pebble Beach Invitational, Pebble Beach Food & Wine and PURE Insurance Championship.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Oversee and assist in maintaining cleanliness of outlet.
Ensure coverage of the entrance, greeting arriving guests and thanking those that are leaving.
Assist with special event or buyout set-ups, such as moving tables, running food or bussing.
Check reservations in book and assign table numbers. Ensure availability for resort guests.
Call to confirm reservations and large parties.
Complete all assigned tasks given by your manager or supervisor.
Check all menus for cleanliness and accuracy.
Answer the telephone, take reservations and give directions to restaurant.
Maintain waiting list, select table and escort guests to the table.
Resolve guest problems whenever possible and involve manager when necessary.
Answer questions regarding menu items, company history and The Hay golf course.
Schedule reservations according to established procedures.
Bring guests' needs to the attention of appropriate dining room staff or management.
Assist clearing and bussing tables when applicable.
Check reservations in book and IG, and assign table numbers. Ensure availability for resort guests.
Check Zomato for reservations and maintain waves.
Call to confirm large parties and schedule reservations according to established procedures.
Create a great welcome and arrival experience, smile and escort guests to the table.
Take the guests' food and drink orders when business necessitates
Monitor alcohol consumption and behavior of guests alerting a manager of any intoxicated or questionable guests.
Observe guests' progress and respond in a timely way to their needs.
Assist in side work such as rollup, menus, condiments and any other prep for the next shift.
Assist in food running to the bar and tables when applicable.
Remove used dishes and maintain tables during meal by replacing utensils as necessary and refolding napkins.
Follow Pebble Beach Company cash handling policies and procedures.
Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety, health and general policies and procedures.

Absolutely Required Skills:

Excellent communication skills.
Possesses speed, accuracy and attention to detail.
Courtesy and anticipation of guests needs are essential.
Ability to oversee the efficient seating and scheduling of dinner guests.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to work as a team with entire floor staff and kitchen staff ensuring timely, efficient service.
Ability to work in high pressure environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

Desired Skills:

Working knowledge of point of sale system helpful.
