Full Job Description

General Summary

Responsible for the pre- and post-inspection and safe operation of haul trucks, water trucks, skid steer, backhoe, dredge, portable plant, and any other equipment assigned, while excavating and processing soil and rock materials.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities (Essential Functions)

Pre-Inspection, post-inspection, and safe operation of haul trucks and water trucks.
Responsible for plant operation assignments.
Responsible for plant housekeeping assignments “Ground man”.
Assisting in plant and equipment servicing and maintenance repairs.
Inspect, ascent, start and safely operate and control assigned off-road mining equipment in a hazardous mining environment.
Responsible for completing area audits.
Maintains work area and equipment in a safe and clean condition at all times.
Responsible to abide by and support all company and plant safety policies, rules, and procedures as well as M.S.H.A regulations.

Educational Skills and Experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
One year of heavy equipment experience highly desired.
Must possess good analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Other Qualifications

Ability to listen and understand information presented through spoken words.
Ability to communicate information in speaking.
Ability to read and understand information presented in writing.
Ability to communicate effectively using appropriate interpersonal skills.
Ability to supervise own work and be self-motivated.
Ability to abide by company safety policies and procedures and to work safety within a fast-paced environment.
Ability to occasionally travel (including overnight) up to one (1) week at a time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
