Property Manager

Hampton Oaks – Peekskill, NY
Salary: $55,000 – $70,000 per year, based on experience

Garden Communities is seeking an experienced and motivated Property Manager for Hampton Oaks, located in Peekskill, NY.

This is a great opportunity for a hands-on Property Manager who is confident, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced residential community. The ideal candidate will be someone who takes ownership, enjoys problem-solving, and can manage daily property operations while maintaining professionalism, structure, and strong communication with residents, staff, vendors, and upper management.

We are looking for someone who is not afraid of a challenge and has the ability to remain calm, fair, and solution-focused in a busy property environment.

Responsibilities

The Property Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the property, including but not limited to:

Managing resident relations and responding to resident concerns in a professional and timely manner
Overseeing leasing, renewals, move-ins, move-outs, and occupancy goals
Supervising property staff and helping ensure tasks are completed efficiently
Walking the property regularly to ensure curb appeal, cleanliness, and safety standards are maintained
Coordinating with maintenance staff and vendors regarding repairs, work orders, and property needs
Addressing tenant issues, complaints, lease violations, and follow-up items
Monitoring rent collections, delinquencies, and related resident communications
Assisting with budgets, reports, invoices, and other administrative responsibilities
Ensuring company policies, procedures, and fair housing guidelines are followed
Maintaining strong communication with corporate office and regional leadership
Helping create a positive, professional, and organized property environment

Qualifications

Prior property management experience required
Residential property management experience strongly preferred
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to handle challenging situations professionally and calmly
Strong organizational and follow-up skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities throughout the day
Experience with resident relations, leasing, collections, vendors, and staff supervision
Computer proficiency required
Yardi experience is a plus
Must be dependable, professional, and able to work independently
Must have a positive attitude and a willingness to be hands-on

The ideal candidate is someone who is experienced, confident, and proactive. This person should be comfortable taking ownership of the property, addressing issues directly, and creating a more organized and positive environment for residents and staff.

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operations and is motivated by improving the overall performance and appearance of the property.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
