Full Job Description

NX CNC Programmer – 2nd Shift

Location: Greenville, SC
Pay: $50–$60 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2nd Shift
Job Type: 18-month contract with potential for direct hire
Hours: 40+ hours per week; some overtime may be available

We are urgently hiring multiple experienced NX CNC Programmers to support a large gas-turbine manufacturing operation in Greenville, SC. This is an onsite, second-shift position involving CNC programming, process development and direct shop-floor support.

Candidates must have strong CNC programming experience and a hands-on machining background. Siemens NX CAM is strongly preferred; however, experienced programmers using other graphical CAM systems may be considered.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain CNC programs using Siemens NX CAM or another graphical CAM system
Program multi-axis milling, turning, grinding and/or EDM operations
Develop programs from scratch and modify existing programs
Program large-format equipment, including VTLs, VBMs, 5-axis gantry machines and vertical turn/grind machines
Verify CNC programs using Vericut or similar simulation software
Create and support Renishaw probing cycles, macros and variable-based programs
Personally support machine setup and complex first-piece prove-out
Troubleshoot CNC programs and machining processes on the shop floor
Develop tooling, fixturing and workstation instructions
Train machine operators during new equipment startups and process improvements
Improve machining safety, quality, cost and delivery

Required Qualifications

At least four years of graphical CAM-based CNC programming experience
Ability to program CNC equipment from scratch
Hands-on machinist experience, including machine setup and first-piece prove-out
Experience programming multi-axis CNC equipment
Strong blueprint-reading and shop-math skills
Knowledge of geometry and trigonometry
Ability to work onsite in Greenville, SC on second shift
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident/Green Card holder

Preferred Qualifications

Siemens NX CAM programming experience
Experience creating 5-axis CNC programs
Vericut or comparable CNC simulation experience
Experience with Renishaw probing routines, macros and error trapping
Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Okuma and/or Siemens controls
Large VTL, VBM, gantry or vertical turn/grind experience
Experience maintaining tight tolerances on large-format components
Experience machining Inconel, Rene, Hastelloy or other nickel-based superalloys
Heavy-duty gas turbine, power-generation or aerospace manufacturing experience
Closed-loop machining experience
