We are looking for an exceptional Medical Assistant to be a part of our team. A professional who is compassionate and knowledgeable to fill the position. This person will perform multiple duties and needs to able to adapt to a fast pace and always changing environment.

Responsibilities Include:

The Medical Assistant is to keep the doctor’s office running smoothly.
Verifies patient information by interviewing the patient, recording medical history, and confirming the purpose of the visit.
Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting a patient history summary.
Doing the necessary paperwork required by the patient.
The Medical Assistant will ensure the exam room is prepared for the patient.
Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records, diagnostic and procedure coding, and keeping patient information confidential.
Counsel’s patients by transmitting the physician's orders and questions about their visit.
Schedules appointments, verifies times with patients; prepares charts, pre-admission, and consent forms.
Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Make sure that all the medical equipment is sterilized.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies, procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements.
Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Regularly checks dated materials and medications for expiration date and discards expired items.

Requirements:

2 years experience as a Medical Assistant with certification
2 years experience in Managed Care medical office
Certified Medical Assistant
Phlebotomist License
Bilingual, Must be able to: Speak, Read and Write in English and Spanish; Creole is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
