Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. Has experience with cooking Mexican cuisine. At Amado the ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, manage food preparation, and contribute to menu development in a dynamic hospitality environment. The Sous Chef will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and service excellence across various dining settings, including fine dining, catering, and banquet events.

Responsibilities

Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to quality standards.
Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, providing guidance and mentorship to foster a collaborative team environment.
Manage food production processes, including preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stock control, and minimizing waste to optimize kitchen efficiency.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen.
Participate in menu planning, recipe development, and culinary innovation to enhance dining offerings.
Lead shift management responsibilities, including scheduling staff and managing operational issues during service hours.
Oversee catering events and banquet services, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality food for large groups.
Monitor food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality control across all food service activities.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.

Experience

Proven experience in fine dining environments with a strong background in culinary arts.
Supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable.
Extensive knowledge of food production, menu planning, and kitchen management practices.
Experience in banquet service, catering, or large-scale event food preparation is preferred.
Familiarity with inventory control systems and food safety regulations.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively under pressure.
Background in dietary department operations or specialized food handling is a plus.
