PRINCIPAL METALLURGIST – TECHNOLOGY
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE PRINCIPAL METALLURGIST – TECHNOLOGY:

Provides a diversified range of technical services to our internal and external customers supporting the attainment of Company and division goals.

Responsible for making disposition of referred, non-conforming and off-standard material, including but not limited to RMRs and customer claims.

Responsible for providing training and education to key customers.
-
Provides leadership to less-experienced staff.
-
Provides support, leadership and guidance to peers, customers and manager in key projects and opportunities.
-
Leads others in the use of statistical methods and experimental design.
-
Manages functional project teams to address and solve complex technical problems and recognize business trends for alloy and process development, including project planning and budget compliance.

Recognizes and communicates technical risk to management. Applies SPC, six-sigma and/or BPI tools to detect project inefficiencies.

Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIRED FOR THE PRINCIPAL METALLURGIST – TECHNOLOGY:

Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering, Materials Science or related field required.

8 or more years relevant experience required.
