Full Job Description

Borough of Modena is seeking a qualified, organized, and proactive individual to serve as part-time Borough Secretary. This key position works closely with Borough Council to manage administrative, financial, and regulatory operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative: Preparing Council meeting agendas, recording detailed minutes, maintaining official records, and managing public information requests (Right to Know). Attendance at Borough Council meetings is required.

Finance: Makes bank deposits, receiving of bills, preparing and sending sewer and trash bills, bookkeeping of bills/invoices and recording checks received, managing state/federal reporting, and assisting Treasurer as needed.

Customer Service: Acting as the primary point of contact for residents, contractors, and visitors.

Qualifications:

-High School diploma or equivalent required; some experience in Public Administration, Accounting, Customer Service, or Business preferred.

-Prior experience in bookkeeping and in office municipal administration preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel), and financial software (Quickbooks) required.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
