Full Job Description

Overview
The Housing Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations and management of housing facilities. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with housing regulations, maintaining high standards of living conditions, and providing support to residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of housing programs, including LIHTC and Section 8, and will be skilled in crisis management and intervention.

Duties

Manage daily operations of housing facilities, ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations.
Oversee tenant relations, addressing concerns and fostering a positive community environment.
Implement and monitor housing programs such as LIHTC and Section 8.
Conduct regular inspections of properties to ensure maintenance standards are met.
Utilize Yardi software for managing tenant information, rent collections, and maintenance requests.
Provide crisis intervention support to residents facing challenges or emergencies.
Collaborate with social workers and community resources to assist residents in need.
Negotiate lease agreements and resolve disputes effectively.
Maintain accurate records related to tenant occupancy, financial transactions, and regulatory compliance.

Skills

Proficiency in Realpage or similar property management software.
Strong understanding of Fair Housing regulations and compliance requirements.
Experience with LIHTC and Section 8 housing programs is highly desirable.
Ability to apply motivational interviewing techniques to engage residents effectively.
Excellent crisis management skills with the ability to intervene in challenging situations.
Strong negotiation skills to resolve conflicts amicably.
Knowledge of relevant laws pertaining to housing management.
Background in social work or related fields is a plus.

This position requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about providing quality housing solutions while supporting the needs of residents.
