Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Brake Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal components according to precise specifications. This position ensures high-quality production while maintaining safety standards and meeting production deadlines. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality production processes in a dynamic environment where safety, accuracy, and craftsmanship are paramount.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate press brake machines to bend metal parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
Select appropriate tooling, dies, and machine settings for production runs.
Perform accurate measurements using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with quality standards and tolerances.
Monitor and control machine performance to maintain consistent quality and efficiency.
Make machine adjustments to maintain product quality and efficiency.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Assist with routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting issues.
Record production data and report defects or equipment malfunctions.
Collaborate with production team members, supervisors, and quality control staff.
Follow all safety protocols and wear PPE to prevent occupational hazards.

Qualifications and Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
Technical training in machining, fabrication, or manufacturing preferred.
One to three years of experience operating press brake or similar machinery (experience level may vary).
Basic math skills and ability to read measurement tools.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Knowledge of metal fabrication processes.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
