20/20 is hiring a VDC/BIM Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with 5-8+ years of progressive experience in mechanical, plumbing, or commercial construction environments and a proven track record leading BIM/VDC strategy, coordination, and model-based project delivery.

In this role, you’ll drive innovation, mentor project teams, and lead coordination efforts on complex, high-impact projects. We’re looking for someone who can elevate workflows, collaborate across disciplines, and help shape the future of how we build.

General Responsibility:

The VDC/BIM Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and maintaining all Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes within 2020 Plumbing & Heating. This role ensures high-quality design coordination, accurate model development, and successful integration of virtual construction workflows across all plumbing and HVAC projects

Significant Duties:

Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of BIM/VDC workflows for all projects.
Create, maintain, and enforce company BIM standards, templates, and execution plans.
Ability to manage and coordinate all 3D modeling activities to support fabrication, installation, and clash detection.
Communicate design intent and model changes clearly to field teams and leadership.
Conduct regular BIM coordination meetings with internal teams, trade partners, and general contractors.
Develop project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and ensure compliance across all stakeholders.
Oversee model quality control and ensure accurate and constructible design output.
Implement best practices for model version control, documentation, and file management.
Establish continuous improvement processes for BIM operations.
Provide hands-on modeling support during project start-up or critical coordination phases.
Troubleshoot Revit issues and provide technical support to modelers and project staff.
Train VDC technicians, detailers, and project teams on efficient Revit workflows.
Ensure Revit models adhere to industry standards (LOD requirements, naming conventions, shared coordinates, etc.).
Partner with IT and leadership to maintain hardware, software, and licensing requirements
Assist with cross training and development of department SOP’s.

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management required; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive industry experience in construction, mechanical, or plumbing environments, with at least 5 years of direct BIM/VDC leadership experience. Proven ability to lead coordination efforts, drive model-based workflows, and mentor project teams in complex commercial construction projects.
Expert-level with Revit, Dynamo, Navisworks Manage, Autodesk platforms and Trimble VDC Pro+.
Strong understanding of plumbing and HVAC systems, construction processes, and MEP coordination.
Experience leading BIM teams and managing BIM workflows for complex projects.
Preferred: experience with Trimble layout tools, fabrication software, laser scanning, or spooling workflows.
Excellent communication skills required, both written and verbal
Collaboration with multiple departments, including Divisional General Managers, Project Management, Estimating, Field Operations, and Fabrication.
Hybrid role with office-based modeling work, jobsite coordination visits, and occasional travel to project locations.
Proficiency with MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point
Must be able to use critical thinking to effectively solve issues
Effectively communicates information in a clear, thorough, and professionals manner to employees across all levels of the organization.
Uses independent judgment and discretion in prioritizing and managing situations
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Detail oriented ability to prioritize with strong organization skills
Ability to understand and analyze data to make decisions
Self-Motivator / Self-Starter
Ability to adapt to changing business needs

Physical Requirements:

The position of VDC/BIM Manager requires that you are able to lift objects that weight up to 25 pounds. Occasionally squat, kneel, twist, and bend. Ability to sit for long periods, stand, walk, climb stairs and use of hands, fingers, wrist and arms.
