Full Job Description

Moody & Associates Law Office, LLC is a growing Estate Planning & Probate firm seeking a full-time Legal Assistants to join our family. Our firm is a place for growth, inspiration, collegiality, and accountability. Beautiful historic office in downtown Perry with wonderful people who support each other!

JOB TITLE: Estate Planning Legal Assistant

REPORTING TO: Estate Planning Team Lead

ABOUT US: Moody & Associates Law Office is a well-established law firm specializing in estate planning and probates. Our team is dedicated to being passionate about people, attentive to our clients, recognized experts, and fierce in the pursuit of justice. We value compassion and integrity. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Legal Assistant to join our team.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Follow firm guidelines for use of the case management database, including proper updating of contacts, properly adding contacts to cases, updating case information as requested by attorneys, being proactive in determining items to be added to database.

2. Provide administrative support to the attorney handling estate planning matters.

3. Draft estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, and advance medical directives under attorney supervision.

4. Promptly and professionally communicate with clients through the step-by-step management of their matter, maintain client files, and prepare materials for client meetings.

5. Support the attorney with document preparation and signing, and collaborate with intake and administrative teams to ensure seamless client service.

6. The duties outlined in this job description are not all-inclusive and additional duties and tasks may be assigned as required by the appropriate team lead.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Strong and steady work history

2. Excellent organizational skills, with strong attention to detail

3. Excellent critical thinking skills

4. Excellent communication, professionalism, and client interfacing skills

5. Strong proficiency in MS Word – Outlook – Excel

6. Interest in estate planning and long-term career development

7. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team-structured setting

8. Ability to change and balance competing demands

9. Associate or bachelor’s degree and prior estate planning legal experience preferred

HOURS OF WORK

A maximum of 40 hours per week, 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday with a one-hour lunch break.
