Full Job Description

OBJECTIVE:

Develops and manages commercial loan accounts which meet established lending requirements, and which maximize profitability while minimizing risk. Sets goals for growth, fee income, delinquency and charge offs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Interviews loan applicants, collects, analyzes financial and related data to determine general credit worthiness of the prospect and the merits of the specific loan request.
Establishes and negotiates terms under which credit will be extended, including costs, repayment method and schedule and collateral requirements.
Collects and analyzes information which reflects current credit worthiness of customers and current merits of existing loans.
Monitors loan repayment activities and takes necessary action to collect from past due accounts.
Adheres to customer service standards to ensure that inquiries are handled in a prompt, efficient and courteous manner.
Develops new business by contacting prospects and customers.
Participates in community affairs to increase the bank’s visibility and to enhance new business opportunities.
Performs job duties in accordance with all appropriate laws and regulations.
Reviews new developments in commercial lending and changing government regulations, ensuring that the staff is kept informed.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Degree in business, finance or marketing
5 years’ experience in commercial/ag lending is preferred.
Thorough knowledge of lending regulations and credit/underwriting practices

Skills and Competencies:

Excellent PC skills including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, internet, and internal software
Strong verbal, negotiation and presentation skills in order to achieve sales objectives in a professional environment.
Superior analytical skills in order to underwrite and monitor loans and identify business opportunities in a highly competitive environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Traditional retail office environment
