Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team here at United Tool. In this role, you will operate, set up, and maintain CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision parts and components. Your expertise in mechanical systems, blueprint interpretation, and machine programming will ensure the highest quality standards are met while adhering to safety protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing processes and develop your technical skills in a fast-paced environment. We have four departments: Swiss, Mill, Lathe/Turning, Tool Room.

Duties

Operate CNC milling machines, lathes, and other machining equipment to produce complex parts according to detailed blueprints and schematics
Set up machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and programming parameters using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming tools
Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine machining requirements
Troubleshoot equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production flow
Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery and conduct inspections using coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for quality assurance
Program CNC machines using G-code or other programming languages, optimizing machining processes for efficiency and precision
Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper tool handling, machine guarding, and workspace organization to maintain a safe working environment

Requirements

Proven experience operating CNC milling machines, lathes, or similar equipment in a manufacturing setting
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively
Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
Familiarity with CAD software and CAM programming for machine setup and operation
Knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code or M-code
Experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for quality control inspections
Ability to interpret schematics related to tooling, fixtures, and machine operation instructions
Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, 3D printing, and tooling selection
Commitment to safety protocol adherence and maintaining a clean work environment
