Full Job Description

Senior Lead Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Senior Lead Superintendent to join our residential construction team. This is a field-based leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day jobsite operations, managing project schedules, coordinating subcontractors and vendors, and providing guidance and support to other superintendents.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in high-end residential construction. This person should be comfortable leading teams in the field, communicating with clients and designers, solving problems in real time, and ensuring projects are completed with the level of quality and professionalism expected.

Responsibilities

The Senior Lead Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing active residential construction projects from start to finish while also helping manage and support other superintendents in the field. Responsibilities include:

Managing daily jobsite operations and ensuring work is progressing according to schedule, scope, and quality standards.

Overseeing subcontractors, vendors, and in-house team members to ensure work is performed correctly, efficiently, and safely.

Reviewing plans, specifications, selections, and scopes of work to ensure all parties understand expectations before work begins.

Coordinating inspections, deliveries, material needs, site logistics, and jobsite sequencing.

Leading weekly site meetings and maintaining clear communication with project managers, clients, designers, architects, and subcontractors.

Supporting and mentoring other superintendents by helping them troubleshoot field issues, manage schedules, and maintain jobsite standards.

Identifying potential issues early and working with the team to develop practical solutions.

Maintaining clean, organized, and professional jobsites.

Using Buildertrend or other project management tools to document jobsite progress, photos, schedules, updates, and daily logs.

Helping develop and maintain project schedules, including coordinating trades and working backward from key deadlines.

Reviewing subcontractor work for completion and quality before approving payment or moving to the next phase.

Assisting with punch lists, project closeout, warranty items, and final client walkthroughs.

Reinforcing company standards, processes, and communication expectations across all projects.

Qualifications

Minimum 8–10 years of residential construction experience, preferably in high-end remodels, additions, and custom homes.

Prior superintendent or senior field leadership experience required.

Strong understanding of residential construction methods, sequencing, materials, trades, and jobsite coordination.

Ability to read and interpret construction plans, architectural drawings, structural plans, and finish schedules.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage subcontractors and support other superintendents.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects at one time.

Comfortable communicating with clients, designers, architects, vendors, and internal team members.

Experience with Buildertrend or similar construction management software preferred.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience. Benefits and additional compensation structure can be discussed during the interview process.
