Full Job Description

Tecovas was founded with the simple goal of making the world's best western boots, apparel and leather goods - and selling them at a fair price. We are a brand revolutionizing a category and welcoming first-time boot buyers and western enthusiasts alike.

Tecovas is looking for a Contract Video Editor to work with our marketing and creative teams to edit high-quality video content for paid and organic channels, as well as supporting the social team with content for Instagram and TikTok. The videos you'll create are as informal as a 60-second tour of a new store shot on iPhone to as formal as a 10-minute video teaching our audience how to clean and condition their boots.

This is a part-time, contract role (3 months) with potential for extension. This role is required to be based in Austin, TX with 1-2 days per week in office anticipated

What you'll do:

Collaborating with the creative team to develop and execute video concepts that align with our brand guidelines and marketing objectives, with a focus on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok content.
Shooting and editing various types of video content, including product spotlights, tutorials, behind-the-scenes footage, customer testimonials, promotional materials, and platform-specific formats.
Ensuring that all video content is consistent in style, quality, and tone of voice, and adheres to our brand standards and platform-specific best practices.
Managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering final video content within established timelines and budgets.
Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in editing, lighting, editing techniques, and social media platform requirements.
Ensuring proper storage and organization of video files and assets, and maintaining equipment inventory.
Providing creative input and participating in brainstorming sessions to develop new content ideas and strategies.

What you bring to the table:

A strong portfolio showcasing your post-production and editing skills, with a focus on lifestyle and/or product content, as well as experience creating content for YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in video editing, with a background in creating content for fashion, retail, or consumer goods brands preferred.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere Pro, and Photoshop.
Strong understanding of video post-production principles, including color, sound, and file organization.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for visual storytelling and aesthetics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to work collaboratively across different teams to deliver projects cross functionally.

Contract Details:

Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Duration: 3 months with possibility of extension
Hours: 25 hours/week depending on project needs
Location: Hybrid, Austin, TX
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience, starting at $45/hr
