Full Job Description

Make a Difference in the Lives of Seniors

Dunwoody at Home is seeking compassionate and engaging Companions/Caregivers to support older adults living within the Dunwoody Village community. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, having meaningful conversations, and helping seniors remain active, independent, and connected.

Our companions provide support with daily activities while also bringing warmth, conversation, and companionship to each visit.

CNA certification is preferred but not required for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Provide companionship and meaningful engagement with residents
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Provide medication reminders
Accompany residents to appointments and community outings
Assist with errands and transportation when needed
Provide light housekeeping assistance
Encourage participation in hobbies, interests, and activities
Communicate clearly with residents, families, and the Dunwoody at Home team

Schedule

This is an as-needed position with a minimum requirement of 32 hours per month.

Some assignments may include 24-hour cases, with the ability for caregivers to work 12-hour shifts within those cases. Flexibility is helpful as schedules may vary depending on resident needs.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for caregivers who genuinely enjoy spending time with older adults and creating positive connections.

Strong communication skills are essential. The right candidate should be comfortable engaging residents in conversation, learning about their interests, and building meaningful relationships.

Qualifications

CNA certification preferred but not required
Experience working with seniors preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, dependable, and patient
Ability to actively engage residents in conversation and activities
Valid driver’s license preferred (driving for appointments or errands may be required)
