Full Job Description

Urban Youth Kings & Queens’ mission is to educate and empower Philadelphia’s children and adolescents through wellness, sports, and after-school programs to recognize their talents, pursue college, and become leaders in their communities.Purpose

The After School Program Site Supervisor plays a key leadership role in the daily operations of the UYKQ After School Program. The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing program planning, activity implementation, staff supervision, and ensuring a safe, engaging, and structured environment for students. This position serves as a liaison between school personnel, families, and UYKQ leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Oversight & Leadership

Direct daily program operations, ensuring scheduled activities are carried out effectively.
Develop and implement engaging curriculum-based enrichment activities.
Supervise and evaluate after school staff, volunteers, and interns daily.
Ensure program spaces are safe, organized, and welcoming.

Student Support & Engagement

Ensure students receive structured homework help and academic support.
Monitor attendance, behavior, and student progress, and communicate concerns with families as needed.
Assists with the preparation and distribution of snacks/meals.
Promote student safety and positive behavior management through active supervision and clear expectations.

Staff Management & Communication

Facilitate regular team meetings and bi-weekly one-on-one supervision with program staff.
Assist with planning and leading trainings or orientations for new staff and volunteers.
Maintain open, consistent communication with program staff, families, and school administrators.

Logistics & Administration

Coordinate and monitor daily snack/meal distribution; ensure proper documentation and compliance with food program requirements.
Submit supply requests and maintain adequate inventory of materials and resources.
Accurately maintain daily attendance records and incident reports.
Serve as primary liaison with the school principal and designated school staff.
Communicate with parents/caregivers on a daily basis
Utilize database (HiMama) on a daily basis for messaging and communication with staff and families

Safety & Compliance

Enforce risk management procedures to protect the health and safety of all participants and staff.
Ensure all program protocols align with school district and UYKQ policies.
Participate in emergency drills and ensure staff are prepared to respond appropriately.
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS-KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years’ experience working with children in an organized setting.
Prior experience supervising or managing staff.
Experience developing and implementing structured lesson plans and activities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic database tools.

Knowledge Of:

Basic subjects taught in District schools, including arithmetic, grammar, spelling, language, and reading.
Child development and education support best practices.
Safe practices in classroom and playground activities.
Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Basic record-keeping techniques.

Ability To:

Communicate clearly and effectively with children, families, and staff.
Lead a team with patience, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity.
Plan and execute daily activities with flexibility and structure.
Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Operate office and instructional equipment (computers, copiers, etc.).
Maintain accurate records and complete administrative tasks promptly.
Work while standing, sitting, and/or walking.

Physical Demands:

Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 50 pounds.

FBI Clearance
Willingness to obtain additional trainings or certificates required by the organization or district, when needed

Preferred

First Aid & CPR Certification

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 20.0 per week
